Schools FAQ

School portrait of tween girl Erin Wood Photography Central CT school photographer

Erin Wood Photography offers fine art school portraiture to preschools, day cares and schools in the central Connecticut area.  My approach to school photography is efficient, yet personal.  I aim to capture the true personality of each child, rather than the cheesy, posed portrait.  I offer full service, from photo day to printing services to delivery of products to the school.

What is Fine Art School Portraiture?

Fine art school portraiture is a more modern approach to school photos.  No more cheesy smiles and fake backdrops.  The background will be black and the photos will be simple and classic.  The children will be encouraged to be themselves and will never be forced to smile.

What services do you offer?

I offer personalized and modern  school photography.  My systems are all completely online.

I provide all equipment and personnel needed on picture day.

I handle all questions from parents about picture day and orders.

All parent communication will be provided to the school to send out to parents.  There are no order forms to collect on the part of the school.

I take staff photos.  Complimentary photos of staff and all students are provided to the school for yearbooks and school use.

Before picture day, I send parents a detailed file explaining  how to view proofs and how to order.

Each child is provided with 2-5 proofs in a proof  gallery.  Families may view their proofs online and decide which portraits they would like to print.   I offer printing services and a variety of products ranging from traditional prints to canvas wraps.

Final printed products are delivered directly to the school for distribution to the parents.

How many students can you accommodate?

I am prepared to work with various school sizes.  In my child photography business, I have worked with children from birth to age 18.

Are Siblings Welcome?

Siblings are welcome!  If your sibling does not attend the school, you are free to bring them along for portraits alone or with their brother / sister at the beginning of the day.  If siblings attend school together, please let me know so I can have them come down at the same time to be photographed together.

Is this expensive?

There is no cost to the school to use Erin Wood Photography for school portrait day.  My prices are competitive and I offer a range of products so every family can be accommodated.  I donate 10% of my profits to the school as a way to say thank you for hiring me!
